Lovin’ the Back Nine
Our favorite App of the week is the new Masters iPad App. We heard about it from Twitter – and it may have been Clayton Morris who first brought this very cool App to our attention. Thanks Clayton!
Even from over here in Singapore, the Masters iPad App brings to life for us the sights, sounds and history of the Masters. Just launching the app it is a delight. We give the Masters iPad developers thumbs up for the video “Welcome to the Masters” introduction. Love the choice of images and video. We also like “Photos” menu tab, and adding sections like “50 Years of Honorary Starters”, “Seve Through the Years”, and “Champions Dinner Through the Years” helped capture the moments from the past we remember and took us inside to moments we could enjoy for the first time. Very well done!
The Full Leader Board – structured in such a way as we might see it walking the course is very helpful. Waking up on our Easter Sunday morning we were surprised at breakfast to hear about Phil Mickelson’s charge and rise up the leader board. We probably first heard about the leader board update via an Asia News Channel sports update segment. Knowing we could get more details on via the iPad was nice.
Clicking the Leader Board led us to easily see what is happening through the first 54 holes: Phil Mickelson is lovin’ the Masters back nine – shooting 8 under for the tournament over the first three days. Wow! Eleven birdies and am eagle on the back nine.
Phil’s game is particularly tuned for the following back nine holes: par 3 12th / par 5 13th / par 5 15th / and par 4 18th
For these four back nine holes, Phil is 12 under par and except for the par 4 3rd hole, has not shot under par more than once on any other hole. Is Phil getting more comfortable with his game? His scorecard is clearly showing he has enjoyed even or under par in each of his last two rounds.
We have no idea or appreciation of the near misses by other players, or affects the weather is having over there in Augusta. We are learning to enjoy the Masters iPad app and are looking forward to seeing future updates.
We hope you enjoy your Easter Sunday at the Masters with the new iPad app.
Go get ‘em tomorrow Phil! Over here in the Upper Deck we will be pulling for you to do well – on the front and back nine!
